Artwork guidelines
Good artwork means a sharp, accurate print. Here’s what we need.
File types
- Vector artwork is required for print, supplied as a PDF, AI or EPS file. Vector files can be resized without losing quality.
- Please convert any text in your logo to outlines (sometimes called “curves”), so the fonts print exactly as designed.
- Only have a JPG or PNG? Send it anyway with your quote request, and we’ll check whether it can be used.
No vector artwork? We can redraw it
If your logo isn’t available as vector artwork, we can vectorise (redraw) it for you for £30 + VAT.
- You receive the vector files for your own records, ready to use with any printer.
- We keep a copy for your future orders, in line with our privacy policy.
- The charge is added to your quote and invoice, and is paid upfront with your order, in line with our standard payment terms.
Colours
- 1 colour (spot colour) print: please give us the Pantone (PMS) reference for each colour you want, so we can match it as closely as possible.
- Full colour (digital) print uses CMYK inks, so an exact Pantone match isn’t possible. We always aim to get as close as we can.
- Printed colours can look slightly different from your screen, especially on coloured products, where the product colour affects the ink.
Print size and position
Each product has its own print area. Very fine lines and very small text may not print clearly on some products. We’ll position your logo to suit the product and show you exactly how it will look on your proof.
Your proof
Before anything is printed, we send you a free visual proof. Please check the spelling, wording, colours, size and position carefully. Production starts only once you approve it, and changes can’t be made after that.
